Delete your workspace
How to close your Laberty completely: what is deleted, what is kept, the 7-day grace period, and how to change your mind.
You can delete your workspace yourself, completely, without asking anyone. It is deliberately not a single click, and there is a way back for 7 days.
Who can do it
Only a full Admin, from Your data in the Account part of the menu. To remove just one person, use Users instead: that deletes that person's sign-in and leaves the workspace alone.
The primary workspace of an installation (the one Laberty itself runs from) cannot be deleted from inside the app.
Download your data first
Open Download a copy of your data and take your copy. While a workspace is suspended for deletion, nobody can sign in to do it.
The steps
- On Your data, under Delete this workspace, type the workspace's name exactly, tick the box, and press Email me a confirmation link. If you use an authenticator app, enter its current code too.
- We email a link to your address. It works once and expires in 20 minutes. Nobody else can use it, and it is not a sign-in link.
- Open the link and press Yes, suspend now and delete on the date shown.
At that moment:
- Your subscription is cancelled first, straight away, so you are not charged again. If Stripe cannot cancel it, nothing else happens and you are told; nothing is suspended or deleted while you could still be billed.
- The workspace is suspended immediately. Nobody can use it, the print bridge and API stop, and the public grocery page goes offline.
- A 7-day grace period starts. We email you a link that cancels the deletion.
Changing your mind
Until the 7 days are up, open the cancel link in the email. The workspace comes back exactly as it was. A subscription that was cancelled is not restarted; pick a plan again under Billing. If you lost the email, the people who run your Laberty installation can also cancel it for you. Contact us through the Help Center before the date.
What is deleted after the 7 days
Everything the workspace owns, permanently: households, people, occasions, notes, food and grocery data, appointments, printers, label stock, layouts, screens and devices, print history, settings, the activity log, and every person's sign-in, passkeys, authenticator setup, recovery codes and API keys.
What is kept, and why
- Payment records. Stripe keeps its own billing records, and we keep a record of which plan or add-on a payment was for, for accounting. Neither holds anything you typed into Laberty.
- One minimal line saying the workspace existed and was deleted: its name, the dates, the Stripe customer reference and counts of what was removed. No content, no names, no addresses.
- Backups. Copies can remain in database backups for up to 30 days, then age out on their own. A deleted workspace is not restored from a backup.
