Laberty for business

Every printer, every person, one place to manage them.

Setting up printers is the part nobody enjoys: drivers that do not match, AirPrint that works for one person, a label printer only one computer can reach. Laberty replaces that with one managed place: name every printer, say where it is, hand it to the people who use it, and sign everyone in through the account they already have.

What business gets

Built for an IT department of one, or ten.

🖨 Printer fleet

Give every printer a name people recognise, a location and tags, group them ("Front office", "Warehouse"), and assign them to the people who use them. Each person's Print button goes to the printer that is theirs. A printer nobody is assigned to stays open to everyone, so nothing breaks the day you start.

  • Laser, inkjet, dot matrix, thermal, receipt, label and off-brand printers
  • Printers found by your bridge computers can be added with one click
  • Admins can always use every printer

🔐 Single sign-on and Duo

Your people sign in through your own login, with the multi-factor you already require. Connect Duo Single Sign-On, Microsoft Entra, Okta, Google Workspace or any OpenID Connect provider, claim your email domains, and require it. For people who use an email link instead, require a Duo prompt on top.

  • Accounts can be created the first time someone signs in
  • Passkeys keep working, and an admin can always get in to fix a provider problem
  • Your secrets are stored encrypted and never shown again
1 · Type your work emaildana@acme-dental.com

3 · You're inStraight to your desktop

🖥 The Laberty Desktop: all your apps in one place

Instead of clicking from page to page, Laberty looks like the desktop on your computer. Every app a person is allowed to use sits in one launcher, and each one opens in its own window. Keep Printing open next to the Printer fleet and your sign-in settings, drag them where you like, and they are right where you left them next time. Someone who only needs one or two things never sees any of it: they keep the simple screen they already have.

  • Printing, the printer fleet, sign-in settings and the rest, side by side
  • Each person sees only the apps they are allowed, so it cannot show more than their access
  • On a phone it shows one app at a time

🏢 Every site, one console

Add your offices and warehouses, put a bridge and its printers at each, and tag bridges however you think of them. A label for the Dallas warehouse prints in Dallas. Choose which sites share a printer on AirPrint, so someone in Austin can print to a printer in Dallas without a driver or a VPN. Put people in groups and say which printers and sites each group may use.

  • A bridge at each site prints only for its own site
  • Share a printer across sites, by site, bridge or tag
  • Groups of people, with access to printers, printer groups or whole sites

🔎 Scanning

Scan from network scanners and all-in-one printers into Laberty. The bridge at the scanner's site runs the scan and the pages appear in your browser as images and one PDF. Scans are kept for a week and then deleted.

  • Glass or document feeder, one or both sides, colour or grey
  • Works with scanners that speak the standard network scanning protocol (AirScan, Mopria)
  • In beta: tell us which scanner you use

🤖 Your AI assistant, and your own apps

Laberty is an MCP server: connect Claude, ChatGPT or your own agent and it can look up printers and contacts, print labels and receipts and check on jobs, with exactly the permissions of its key. Add your own tools to the Desktop as custom apps, and choose which groups of people can open each one.

  • One key per tool or assistant, revoked on its own
  • Switch AI access off for the whole workspace in one click
  • Print from Libpay, your own software or a script with a simple API

🌉 A bridge nobody has to touch

The Laberty Bridge sits on your server and prints to everything. It updates itself with signed releases, rolls back on its own if a release misbehaves, and can be restarted or asked for diagnostics from the web. Larger organisations can roll updates out to a few workspaces first.

  • Prints to printers that only speak encrypted IPP, or only take images
  • Runs on Windows, a NAS, a Mac or Linux
  • Updates and commands are signed and checked: only Simple Technologies releases run
$ laberty-bridge

verifying signature… signed by Simple Technologies
installing 1.3.2… healthy, reached Laberty
if it ever misbehaves, it goes back to 1.3.1 by itself
The bridge updates itself with signed releases. Nobody drives to the server.
On the way

Print server, scan server, management server.

We are building Laberty into the one place that sets up and manages all of it. These are in progress and will arrive in the beta first.

📱 AirPrint sharing Coming soon

The bridge shares the printers it manages to phones and laptops as AirPrint printers. Nobody installs a driver, and every print still goes through Laberty, so assignments and the audit trail apply.

  • Switched on or off per workspace
  • Choose which sites and bridges share each printer
  • Included in Business and Flex
📱Phone or laptop

🪟 The Windows app (beta)

Choose which printers each Windows computer gets, from the Laberty console. They appear on the computer as normal printers, like "Laberty - Back office". When someone prints, the document goes to Laberty and the bridge at that printer's site prints it, so nobody installs drivers or maps printers. The app also reports each computer and its health (print spooler, disk space, offline printers) to one list. For Business and Flex.

  • PDF documents, plus label and receipt printers (ZPL and ESC/POS)
  • Documents up to 1.4 MB for now
  • One command installs it, or roll it out from NinjaOne, Intune or a group policy
  • A Windows installer (MSI) is coming; today it installs with a PowerShell command
Pay for what you use

A flat price for a team. Usage pricing for a very large one.

Business is one price with unlimited printers and prints, up to 10 people. When you outgrow that, Flex starts at $1200 a year, which covers 50 people, 25 printers and 20,000 prints a month. After that you pay only for what you use, and the rates drop 20% after 12 months.
