Laberty Terms of Service

Version: 2026-10-13

These are the terms for using the hosted service at laberty.app. If instead you bought the source code to run your own copy, the Founder License governs that, not this page.

"We", "us" means the operator of Laberty at laberty.app. "You" means the person or organization signed up; "your workspace" means your household or organization's account and everyone you give access to it.

1. The service

Laberty prints address, occasion, food, appointment and note labels, and includes an AI assistant to help manage them. What's included depends on your plan; see laberty.app/#pricing for current plans, and the Privacy Policy for what we collect to run it.

2. Your account and workspace

Sign-in is passwordless: an emailed link or a passkey. You're responsible for who you invite into your workspace and what role you give them — an admin can see and change everything in it, including billing. Keep your sign-in email address current; it's how we reach you.

3. Plans, billing and cancellation

  • Paid plans are billed through Stripe on the subscription terms shown at checkout. The first subscription your workspace ever starts gets a free trial, if one is currently offered.
  • Add-ons and AI action packs are one-time purchases, applied to your workspace as soon as Stripe confirms payment.
  • Cancelling drops your workspace to the Free plan at the end of the current billing period. Nothing is deleted — your data stays exactly where it was, and you can resubscribe any time.
  • A failed renewal payment marks your workspace past due; we'll email you, and continued non-payment eventually drops you to Free the same way cancelling does.
  • We do not currently offer refunds for partial billing periods, except where the law requires it. (This does not apply to the Founder License's own 14-day refund window, which is separate.)

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Laberty for anything illegal, or to store or print content you don't have the right to;
  • try to access another workspace's data, credentials, or API keys, or probe the service for vulnerabilities beyond what responsible disclosure allows;
  • abuse the AI assistant, food lookup or voice features in a way designed to run up cost without genuine use (for example, deliberately looping requests to drain another party's usage);
  • resell access to your workspace, or use it to run what is effectively a hosted service for people outside your household or organization. (If you want to run Laberty for other people or organizations as your own product, that's the Founder License's territory, not this one, and it has its own restrictions.)

We can suspend a workspace that breaks these terms. If we do, we'll tell you why, and reactivating (where we're willing to) doesn't delete anything that was there before suspension.

5. AI features

The assistant, food-label lookups and photo identification call outside AI providers (Anthropic and/or OpenAI, and ElevenLabs for voice, and OpenStreetMap, plus Google where a Google Maps key is set up, for address lookups), under the terms described in the Privacy Policy. AI-generated text and identifications can be wrong — a cooking instruction, a product description, or an assistant's answer is a best effort, not a guarantee, and you're responsible for checking anything you rely on before you act on it.

6. Availability and changes

We try to keep Laberty running and to give notice before a change that removes something you rely on, but we don't promise a specific uptime, and any part of the service can change, be added to, or be discontinued. Third-party services we depend on (Cloudflare, Stripe, the AI and lookup providers) can also change or fail in ways outside our control.

7. No warranty

LABERTY IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not promise the service is free of errors or security vulnerabilities, that any given label will print correctly, or that any third-party service it depends on will keep working.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, HOWEVER CAUSED, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.

Some places do not allow some of these exclusions or limits. Where that is the case, they apply only as far as the law allows. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Ending your access

You can stop using Laberty and cancel at any time from the Billing page. You can also download a copy of everything your workspace owns, or delete the workspace and its data yourself, from Admin → Your data; the Privacy Policy explains exactly what deletion removes and what is kept. We can suspend or end a workspace's access for a material breach of these terms, or for non-payment, as described above. Sections 5, 6, 8, 9, 11 and 12 continue to apply after your access ends.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version and date at the top change when we do; continuing to use Laberty after a change means you accept the new terms. If a change is significant, we'll try to let you know by email.

11. General

These terms are the whole agreement about using the hosted service and replace anything said before about it. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. These terms are governed by the laws of the place where we have our principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
