The email link didn't arrive
Where sign-in emails go missing, how to get a fresh link, and how to sign in without email.
Work through these in order
- Give it a couple of minutes. It usually arrives within seconds, but some mail services hold messages briefly.
- Check spam or junk. In Gmail, also check the Promotions and Updates tabs. In Outlook, check Other.
- Search your mailbox for
signin@laberty.app, or for the subject "Your Laberty sign-in link" (or "Set up your Laberty" for a new account). - Check the address. The "Check your email" page shows where the link was sent. If there's a typo, go back and type it again.
- Ask for another link. Tap Back to sign in and send it again.
- Work or school email? Filters there can hold or delay outside mail. Ask your IT team to allow
signin@laberty.app, andalerts@laberty.appfor printer alerts. Link-scanning filters won't use up your link, because signing in needs a tap on a button. - Seeing "Too many requests"? Wait a minute, then try again.
- Use a passkey if you've set one up. Tap Use a passkey on the sign-in page. No email needed.
Messages you might see
| The page says | What to do |
|---|---|
| That link has expired. | Links last 20 minutes. Ask for a new one |
| That link has already been used. | Each link works once. If you already tapped it, you may be signed in: open laberty.app. Otherwise ask for a new one |
| That link is not valid. | The link was probably cut short when copied. Tap the button in the email instead of copying the address |
| We could not send that email just now. | Our email service had a problem. We're alerted automatically. Try again in a few minutes, or use a passkey |
Signed in on the wrong device?
You're signed in on the device where you tap the final Sign in button. If you opened the email on your phone but wanted your iPad signed in, ask for a new link and open that email on the iPad.
Still nothing
Contact support. You don't need to be signed in. Tell us the email address you're using, and roughly when you asked for the link. Never send us a sign-in link itself.
Still stuck?
